Over 159 years of experience in the industrial sector
The history of our OHL Gutermuth Valve Manufactory dates back to 1867. This century-long industry experience has enabled us to continuously optimize and adapt our valves to global quality requirements, economic and ecological challenges, and future technologies.
1867 - The Beginning
OHL, the older of the two parent companies, is founded in Limburg.
1923 - Founded in Frankfurt
Founding of the second parent company,
Gutermuth, in Frankfurt.
The two companies combine their expertise and industry experience from more than 100 years and merge to form OHL Gutermuth Industrial Valves GmbH in Altenstadt.
2000 - Dipl.-Ing. Wolfgang Röhrig
Dipl.-Ing. Wolfgang Röhrig becomes Managing Director of OHL Gutermuth Industrial Valves GmbH. Wolfgang Röhrig is now the 100% Managing Partner of the company.
2013 - New Production Hall
Construction of a new production hall with a crane capacity of 30 tons. The hall is used for the assembly and testing of large valves, including cryogenic and hot gas tests.
It has a height of 13 meters.
2014 - New Machinery
Our production capacity is expanded through the purchase of new turning-milling centers. A new test bench for valves with weld-on ends is put into operation – with a capacity of up to 48″ 2,500#.
2017 - 150 Years of OHL Gutermuth
The company’s 150th anniversary.
2018 - New Welding Robots
Installation of the first innovative welding robots for hardfacing
2020 - CSP Plant in Dubai
2021 - Special Valves for China
OHL Gutermuth becomes the most important supplier of special valves in the world’s fastest-growing market, China.
2022 - Development of Hot Gas Valves
Development of hot gas valves for the production of green steel using hot hydrogen.
2024 - Special Valve up to DN 2400
For a customer in China, OHL delivered special valves up to DN 2400, which weigh approx. 20 tons each and must shut off safely at 730°C.
2025 - Development of Special Valve for SRU Applications
